"Nobody Else Would Do It"

When Maria came home to Houston after evacuated to Dallas during Hurricane Ike, she found a mess in  her apartment.  There was no power and the roof had leaked during the storm, soaking her bed and ruining her mattress.

That first night she slept on the couch and the next day it was time to visit Gallery Furniture for a new mattress.

Coming to Gallery was an easy decision for her.  She had a bad experience with another store when she bought the first mattress and had to wait a week for delivery.  Maria didn't want to wait, she wanted her new mattress that night, and she knew that Gallery Furniture would deliver the same day.  As she says, "Nobody else would do it."

Maria says she learned a lot about Gallery Furniture last year when she participated in the Miss Gallery Furniture contest.  She knew about the people and the service and Gallery Furniture and she knew Gallery would deliver today. 

So she bought a new queen size mattress and foundation and had it delivered to her apartment in time to sleep on a new mattress her second night at home.

The Road to the Miss Gallery Furniture Crown...

Gallery Furniture is very excited to be announcing its first-ever Miss Gallery Furniture contest, and the store was buzzing with acitivity starting at 5:00 a.m. this morning when women of many ages and backgrounds showed up to bring their best as they audtioned on tape for the coveted Miss Gallery Furniture position.  The winner, who will be decided by a panel of Houston celebrity judges (no Gallery Furniture employees are part of the judging committee) will review the video taped auditions.  The crowning of Miss Gallery Furniture will take place on Friday, Feburary 22nd.

Gallery Furniture ran the contest from 5:00 a.m. til 10:00 a.m. this morning, and many thanks go out to all of the kind support that Gallery Furniture received for the event - the folks at Love Advertising here in Houston did a great job in getting the word out to the local media and NBC's KPRC Channel 2 came out and did some coverage on the event with Houston's own KODA-FM 99.1 came out and performed a morning remote from the Gallery Furniture location.

Miss Gallery Furniture will hold a special place in the Gallery Furniture family, as she will help out by making commercials and also serving at various functions for Gallery Furniture.  Exciting, fun, challenging, and rewarding are all ways to describe this unique and highly coveted Miss Gallery Furniture position - and this will certainly by a challenge to decide from among all the talented and wonderful Houstonians that came out today to audition.
