Going to New Heights - and Lengths - to Deliver Your Furniture

Gallery Furniture has been known to go to amazing lengths to satisfy our customers, but a recent delivery in Galveston goes above and beyond the usual.

Gallery Furniture received an order Saturday morning for a Kreiss sofa and bed and Saturday afternoon the delivery truck was on its way. After hauling the headboard and footboard up 4 flights of stairs to the condo door, the delivery team of Big Roy, Jeff, Boss Man, Tran, Irvin, and Kevin realized that the furniture absolutely would not fit through the apartment door. They walked the pieces all the way back down to ground level and hoisted them over the front balcony in hopes of getting a better angle on the front door. When the furniture still wouldn’t fit through the door, the team acted in true Gallery Furniture fashion and set about finding a prompt way to solve the problem.

The kind of diligence and creativity displayed by this Gallery Furniture delivery team is an excellent example of the kind of customer service the company is built upon. In fact, they’ll be back at the same complex tomorrow to deliver furniture to another one of our fabulous customers!

Gallery Furniture Goes to Mexico!

As many Houstonians know, Gallery Furniture offers Same Day Delivery. We’ve been delivering merchandise the same day it was purchased for nearly three decades. Michele S. from Houston, TX was furnishing her high rise condo on the waterfront of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She called and emailed Gallery Furniture, taking interest in our Kreiss Furniture, Hastens products, and a few of our thousands of rugs in stock. Michele did all her research online and developed a concept of how she wanted her home to look and feel.

First, she stopped at the Kreiss Showroom at 3912 Westheimer Road and spoke to Kreiss Expert Dallas. Michele was extremely excited to lean we could help her furnish her gorgeous new condo in Mexico. She then called Gallery Furniture and spoke to Internet Associate Ray Valdez, who helped handle her order and answered all of her questions and concerns. Ray helped to build her idea by pinpointing the items that would best enhance her living space. After the purchase was made, Executive Staff Member Ted Goldman began finalizing the order and organizing the delivery effort.

Ted contacted Intercon Freight, who specializes in international shipping, and arranged for a truck to pick up Michele’s order. At Gallery Furniture, we want you to have your furniture when you want it, and in the proper condition -Ted was on hand at the time of loading to inspect and quality assure each piece of furniture before it was hauled off to Mexico. To aide Michele in her big move, Ted arranged to have some of Michele’s personal home furnishings delivered with her brand new furniture. Michele was very excited about Gallery Furniture’s quick processing and ability to ship all over the world. All of us at Gallery Furniture wish Michele many exciting and wonderful memories in her new home.

Michael Kreiss at Gallery Furniture

Gallery Furniture is honored to have world famous designer Michael Kreiss visiting this week.  Kreiss is at the Gallery Furniture store on I-45 North to talk with Houston designers and homeowners about his unique designs, his design philosophy, and his signature line of furniture.

A video crew is also recording the story behind the Micheal Kreiss collection, as told by Michael himself.  The videos will be used to describe each furniture group in the Kreiss showroom and will eventually be part of the GalleryFurniture.com web site.

Kreiss' creations are enhanced by the story behind each piece, describing the inspiration for the furniture and why certain materials are selected.

Many Micheal Kreiss designs are influenced by the artwork of the past, particularly classic Greece, yet his interpretations of the classics have become examplesof the best in contemporary design.

Gallery Furniture Brings Velocity to Kreiss

Gallery Furniture makes deliveries happen, no matter how heavy the object, and in this blog a member of the Gallery Furniture Delivery team who worked on setting up the Gallery Furniture Kreiss Showroom assisted with the delivery of a Kreiss Rope Travertine inlay table with bases.

I just wanted to tell you about my first delivery experience taking a Kreiss table and base to a customer in the River Oaks off of Westheimer.  I had been at the Gallery Furniture Kreiss store in the Highland Village with my helper Paul assisting the decorators with moving setting Kreiss furniture as well Tempur-Pedic mattress displays when I got the call for delivery.

I was told that we had a delivery of high end Kreiss furniture with Omar and Arturro headed to River Oaks.  Specifically, we were delivering a Travertine Rope inlay table that Hamilton and Gil had shot the previous day for a customer request - the Kreiss Travertine Rope Inlay Table had two beautiful bases that had excellent scroll work on them.  I was excited that we now carry this beautiful high end Kreiss furniture at Gallery Furniture and even more excited that we can get Kreiss furniture to customers today.

I gotta say Mack, though, that the Kreiss Travertine Rope Inlay table is the single heaviest piece I have ever delivered - and that was with the help of FOUR guys.  The table is a work of art and its Roman style construction lent to it a solid form that while very felt silky smooth, an effect that encompassed the entire piece.  Along with an antique texture and rope pattern that embedded the near edge of the surface, the Kreiss Travertine Rope inlay table defined style, beauty, and simplicity.

By the way, Mack, did I mention the table top was really, really, HEAVY??

Paul, Steve, and myself from Gallery Furniture grabbed Omar and Arturro to assist with the delivery.  When we arrived at the home I was greeted by our wonderful Gallery Furniture customer who showed us exactly where the table needed to go.  After moving plants and lamps to clear a safe path we slowly (and may I add, carefully, unloaded the Kreiss Travertine top.  Before we did anything else, we first set the two bases inside.

Then came the Kreiss Travertine Rope Inlay Table.  I grabbed one end while Omar grabbed the other.  Paul, Arturro, and Steve helped balance the middle and we moved the table.  Mack, I gotta let you know, it felt like carrying one of those ornate gun safes (i.e., heavy)  which as to be close to five-hundred-plus pounds.  Luckily, our wonderful Gallery Furniture customer had French Doors - and your Gallery Furniture delivery team LOVES French Doors) and we set up her table and with her assistance centered it in relation to her crystal chandelier and she was very, very happy with the result!

It's Time to Stop at Gallery Furniture

It sure is hard to miss Gallery Furniture when you are driving north on Interstate 45.   You can easily spot our big sign from the freeway, and you can even see our new Kreiss showroom through the front windows. You just know there's a lot of good furniture under that blue roof.

Billy and Katrina have driven by Gallery Furniture for quite a while.  They finally decided to stop one day.

As Katrina put it, "For years, while driving pass the store, I have always wanted to stop at Gallery Furniture.  During October we drove past again on the way to a family reunion and again I said, "I want to go there!"   The next week a flyer came in the mail prompting us to visit.  We visited the store and was completely amazed!  Four hours later, after looking at all the local nostalgia, we bought our new living room set from Gallery Furniture!"
