This holiday season, Gallery Furniture has been overwhelmed by stories of customers who have found just what they needed in the huge selection and friendly service at the store. Lawrence came in to Gallery Furniture with his wife and little girl to purchase a cocktail table from the contemporary collection. Wonderful Weekend Entertainment

You never know what you are going to find at Gallery Furniture. Today, for instance, was a completely normal Gallery Furniture Saturday: cookies were baking, kids were playing, families were eating, and youthful voices were singing all over the store!

Today, Gallery Furniture was treated to the talents of several local teenagers. The first of these wonderful youths was Vivian Moreno, 13, from Doerre Intermediate School. She took the grand stage and sang Christmas carols for our whole store. She opened with “Let it Snow” and closed with “Deck the Halls” and “Jingle Bell Rock”.

 The 8th grader has been singing since she was four and is now a member of the Doerre Advanced Girls Choir. She was very excited to be here today and Gallery Furniture was more than happy to give her some time to shine.

Today Gallery Furniture also had a group of High School students from Conroe High School, in Houston Texas. Conroe High School has one of the best theater programs in the nation! It was selected to go to the American High School Theater Festival in Scotland and in order to make that trip, they sought sponsorship from Gallery Furniture. As part of their sponsorship, the kids are spending some time at the store, walking around in costumes and interacting with customers. The kids love doing it because they said, “it’s a lot of fun!.”

Local Carolers Bring Holiday Tunes to Gallery Furniture

Gallery Furniture recruited the best choirs throughout the Houston area to spread the Christmas spirit and holiday cheer this season. A group of over 60 students, the Chamber and Treble Choir from Magnolia Junior High School, were the first to sing on the grand stage yesterday.

“I got a call from the Magnolia Historical Society about the choirs performing, we were happy to come,” said choir director Lesa Smith. Assistant director Chris Price aided in helping the choir set up.

The choir opened with traditional Christmas songs “Joy to the World,” and “We wish you a Merry Christmas,” and closed with “Jingle Bell Rock”!

After performing several Christmas medleys the students got to enjoy delicious food at the Gallery Furniture Deli. “It was fun [to sing here]” said student Jasmin Yanez, “I like the store, and the food is good”

Gallery Furniture - Aggie Intern's First Day in a Dickens Costume!

Today was my first day at the exciting Gallery Furniture there is always something happening there! Ranging from presidents to celebrities, or employees wearing costumes- myself included in a Dickens Costume! Folks, Gallery Furniture truly has it all!  Hi! My name is Matt Krob I am an Aggie that needed some real life experience in the real world - I wanted to see marketing applied at the retail level (that's where it all happens).  So, during this winter break, instead of sitting on the couch like most of my friends, I decided to learn from the best men in the Furniture business! Mr. Mattress Mack himself.

Mr. Mattress Mack has a December Internship program for Texas A&M. My first customers were a couple looking for a sofa set for their living room. I brought them to Gallery Furniture's CD 1 Area and had them interact with Gallery Furniture Sales Professional Steve who helped them get what they where looking for. The second family I helped was a young couple looking for a TV entertainment center.

I brought them back to that area and connected them with an expert in that field. I’ve also helped out the community by giving blood to the St. Luke’s Blood Drive. The day is only beginning but it has been a real joy helping the valued customers and creating a exciting experience.

World's Biggest Gingerbread Furniture!

The weather outside may get frightful... but the aroma inside is delightful... you'll smell the aroma of gingerbread when you walk into Gallery Furniture this Christmas season.  The sweet smell is coming from the fresh gingerbread cookies in the oven and from the world's largest display of gingerbread furniture.

Gallery Furniture does every thing big, and this holiday exhibit is no exception.  It's a life sized -- Texas sized -- loveseat, chair and twin Tempur-Pedic mattress!  Folks, it's the all new Gallery Furniture Gingerbread Furniture Collection!  This gingerbread furniture may look good enough to eat, but please don't eat the furniture.  It's meant to be a celebration of the holidays.  (Be careful - it's not edible thanks to preservatives!)

The Gallery Furniture Gingerbread Furniture Collection was designed and created by Houston's very own Who Made the Cake - a specialty cake company based here inside the 610 Loop on Shepherd Drive right outside of River Oaks - it is owned and operated by premiere cake designer & confectionary artist Nadine Moon.  Nadine has made cakes for everyone and anyone in the pop culture jet set - from Matthew McConnaughery to Sir Elton John himself!

The Gallery Furniture delivery team, along with the crew from Who Made the Cake, brought in the new Gallery Furniture Gingerbread Furniture Collection.  The fun part of the story was from the Gallery Furniture Delivery team - you see, it's not every day that Gallery Furniture delivers gingerbread furniture.

Tracy says, “The drive was very difficult, we had to drive 35 mph with the hazard lights on” and take every detour to avoid some serious potholes.  "Any sudden bump could have broken the gingerbread furniture!"  Turns out, the delivery team's fun adventure started earlier than the drive - it started with a phone call to the Marketing Section at Gallery Furniture.

"Who Made the Cake called me about an hour before we had to head on over to their place," said Gil of the Marketing Section, "and they asked if we had tools.  Of course, I said that all of our driver teams carry a full set of tools to be prepared for anything, and they said that's great because we had to take the doors off the store to get the gingerbread furniture out, so I relayed that to the drive team."

“Yeah, we had to take the door off the hinges at Who Made the Cake to get the gingerbread furniture out of the building” Tracy says.  But Tracy added that it was worth it when you "think about the kid’s faces looking at the gingerbread display!”  Family was all the motivation needed for the Gallery Furniture Delivery Team to safely speed  the job along for Gallery Furniture.

The work did not end when the furniture got to the Gallery.  The Who Made the Cake folks added decorations and icing in the showroom, with Nadine Moon supervising.  "There is a lot that needed to be done on site," Nadine Moon said, "some of it we have to do here to make sure that nothing happened to the pieces in transit."

Piece by piece, the new Gallery Furniture Gingerbread Furniture Collection made its way just outside of the Kreiss showroom.  The Gallery Furniture delivery team, along with the Gallery Furniture warehouse crew brought in each piece, painstakingly careful to ensure it stayed in one piece on the way to the showroom floor to delight Houstonians of all ages.

It really is the biggest gingerbread furniture in the world. And that's why Gallery Furniture is submitting a record request to the Guinness Book of World Records, to make sure it has a shot to go down in history.  Even if doesn't make the book, this holiday display is one way Gallery Furniture is celebrating Christmas.  Come on in to Gallery Furniture to get in the spirit and take a look at the world's largest gingerbread furniture!  Merry Christmas from Gallery Furniture!

Gallery Furniture was proud to welcome an old friend and customer, the former President of the United States of America, George Bush Sr. George Bush Senior is also known as “41.” 41 came in to give the gift of furniture to one of his friends. Former President George Bush has been a long time friend of Gallery Furniture, and enjoyed being in the store today.

While 41 was visiting, he met one of Gallery Furniture’s fellow Aggie interns, Rebekah Fields. He gave her a little advice, “Don’t let them longhornize you!” She replied, “I will always be an Aggie!”

The Gallery Furniture Team got into the Christmas Spirit when Darryl sung a familiar Christmas Carol to George Bush Sr. The visit drew a crowd, and all customers experienced a once in a lifetime moment.
