Tom Shaer

Milo was an honest and proud man who never gave less than 100% to his work or his countless friendships. I have known him for 32 years and remember how he, wife Arleen and son Mark treated me from the moment I first met them.

His most famous call of Hank Aaron's 715th HR is quickly cited and it is wonderful. But, separate from that great and distinguished masterpiece, Milo was highly accomplished -overall- with 31 years of baseball announcing before he arrived in Houston. That his "added" 28 years with the Astros became the greatest achievement of his career was truly heartening; he found a real home and team-as-family. That was all he ever wanted.

Rest in Peace, friend, mentor, Hall of Famer, philanthropist and contributor to the fabric of Texas and the United States.
