Tenikia B.

Dr. Mr. Mack

This is the first time I have wrote a letter looking for help. I'm a mother of 2, a little girl that's 3 and a new bundle of joy who is 1month. I stop working in October and I have to really budget my funds. I have no bed to sleep in nor do my daughter, we sleep on the sofa. Its really hard for me to sleep now since I had the baby, I had a c-section, which makes everything hard. We also do not have a place to eat on (no kitchen table) so we eat dinner were we sleep. Mr.Mack, I need help, this really would make Christmas for me and my babies.

Thank You,
Tenikia

Nicolle Prine

Dear Matress Mack,
My name is Nicolle Prine, I am a single mother of 7 kids (3 daughters, 1 son, 2 nieces & 1 nephew). I work a part- time job that barely pays the bills and also seeking an extra job. I drive a 1996 Crown Victoria (barely running) in which all of us have to squeeze in to get to and from school, work, the doctor, grocery shopping, etc. It is a tight squeeze in both areas but we make it work the best we can. The reason I have my sister's 3 kids is because she has a drug problem and she cannot be located. She may call every now and again to let us know she is alive. CPS was going to take the kids but me being the loving Mother and Aunt, I just couldn't see them having to go to Foster Care and go through all the extra problems, they are already going through enough not having their Mother around. CPS does not help with the kids because they feel right now they are safe with a relative, but what can I do?? You can pull up the news story that Isaih Carey made on Fox 26 back in October (that is my sister's trailer in the story about Child Abandonment). I just deal with it and stay strong for all of them. My kids are trying to adjust with sharing little ole ME with 3 other kids but they are maintaining!! I just pray that I can get some assistance with getting them some beds, 4 of the girls share a queen size mattress on the floor, the 2 boys share a twin size matress on the floor, and I share the couch with my 1 year old daughter. We don't have much blankets and pillows either. And also, I have no idea how I will get them any presents but beds should be more than enough for them. Thanks for your time and may God Bless You.
Sincerly,
Nicolle Prine

Dear Mr. Mack
I am a single other of three beautiful boys. I work at a cancer treatment center as a medical assistant. I was blessed to be a partner family with Habitat for Humanities and on October 15th me and my boys where able to move into our first home unfortunatley I have found it difficult to furnish my new home. A month before we moved my previous home was broken into twice and everything I worked so hard for was taken even my childrens clothes and shoes. I have been working hard to replace all of the things that had taken from us but it has put me in a finicial bind and furniture is on the bottom of the list of things that need to be replaced. It hurts my heart to see my children sleeping on the floor on an air mattress. Im not sure if I will be able to provide any Chritmas gifts for the this year becasue of my hardship. Through it all I still feel blessed that we have a safe place to live. I have never been the type of person to ask for help but at this point its not for me its for my children and this would be this best Christmas ever if I could provide at least a mattress for them to sleep on. Any thing you do would be a blessing for me. Thank you for listening and God bless.

Sincerly,
A Mother in need of help

MR.MACK, I'M WRITING ON BEHALF OF MY MOTHER WHO IS IN HER SEVENTIES,SHE RECENTLY LOST HER MOTHER WHOM SHE HAD TAKEN INTO HER HOME TO CARE FOR HER TEN YEARS AGO.SHE UNDERWENT A TRIPLE BI-PASS AND WHILE UNDER A GREAT DEAL OF STRESS SIGNED OVER OWNERSHIP OF HER HOME TO A RELATIVE BELIEVING HE WOULD PROTECT HER INTEREST NOT KNOWING THAT HE OWED MONEY TO CHILD SUPPORT AND BACK TAXES UNTIL SHE ASKED THAT THE HOUSE BE PUT BACK IN HER NAME SO THAT SHE COULD SELL AND MOVE INTO A HOME THAT ONE OF HER SONS OWNS.LONG STORY SHORT,THE MONEY SHE THOUGHT SHE WOULD HAVE TO INVEST AND FURNISH THE OTHER HOME WILL NEVER BE SEEN BECAUSE THE HOUSE SHE ENTRUSTED TO THE OTHER PARTY WILL NEVER BE SEEN . Hello Mr. Mack, I am writing to you in regards to my niece, her husband and 1 1/2 year old son. My niece and her family just came back to the states from Italy where she has been stationed in the US Navy for 3 years. ALL of their belongings were to be shipped over to the US and now months after she has been here they find out that ALL their belongs but 2 mattresses were stolen, somewhere between Italy and the US.They have absolutely NO furniture (except the 2 mattresses) to begin their life outside the Navy. My niece served 2 tours for the US Navy and her husband 1. They are both college graduates and still haven't found work, but are hopeful. They have enough saved so they have rented an apartment and can move in on Dec.1st, but are in desperate need of furniture. At this point ANYTHING at all would be of great help. This would be the best welcome back Christmas this little family could recieve. Thankyou for all that you do for families in need. God bless you and yours this holiday season.

Mack,
Iv had a friend iv know now for many years who has never asked anything for herself or her family, but would give anything to anyone in need no hesitation. Even when they don't have it. Over the years I'v seen her and her family house and feed many people who needed help in many ways with no question's asked. About a year ago my friend Sommer Hampton lost her job and got blessed with another little angel at the same time..... since then iv seen this family have a very hard time, which breaks my heart.. i keep asking "when is karma going to come back around and give her and her family a break?" but i have yet to see it. Through the years of people coming in and out of there home many things have been damaged and ruined beyond repair and with times being tough for the family they don't have the funds to fix or replace any of the stuff needed to live in a comfortable home. They have a couch and loveseat both with boards under the fabric to sit on. Sommer and her husband Chris sleep on two twin beds pushed together and her daughter and son are on very uncomfortable beds not suitable for teenagers. Her newborn girl is sleeping in a crib that Sommer got for free that had to be sanded down and repainted. I have never met a person that has one unkind word to say about her. Despite their situation, her family and her are still upbeat and happy people and make everyone they come across on a daily basis welcome and loved. I know if this was given to her she would be so thankful and shocked that someone is thinking of her and all that she has done for others.
Thank you, and God bless you and yours for doing this for other people.

Hello and Thank you for your time. I am a home health nurse and have a patient who desperately needs help. In her home, she has things that she has found near the dumpster or are hand me downs. She has asthma and Bronchitis and these old things compromise her health. She has never experienced anything "new'. She is on a fixed income of about $750.00 a month. She is a very kind and gracious woman with no family around. She will be spending the holidays alone. She recently was released from the hospital diagnosed with pneumonia and congestive heart failure. She is also in a wheelchair. I feel that life hasn't been very fair to her and that she deserves some "NEW" things. Please give her a little Christmas gift. It is nearly impossible for her to leave her home. I will be bringing her her Thanksgiving dinner and would happily have her in my home if it wasn't so hard for her to get around. I would be the happiest person in the world to just see a smile on her face for something that most most of us take for granted..."something new". She mostly needs a bed bed that is adjustable. Thank you so much for your time. and please consider my friend for your Christmas giveaway. her name is Merrilyn Schmalr.

Dear Mattress Mack my name is Emilia and one wish for christmas this year, is for my kids to have beds. They only have mattress on the floor they use to slepp on, the mattress I got from empty apartments. That someone did not take with them and it was going to be trashed that is the only thing they have to use to slepp on. All of my furniture comes from empty apartments that was going to be trashed. But I well be happy with just getting my kids bedroom furnished thank you Mattress Mack and god bless you. (832)293-5139 Emilia Melendez

Dear Mr. Mac,
I have a good friend whom I love dearly. He is 43, and has been battling with Leukemia since 2006. He has been really sick, and down on luck latley. He is not able to work nor get help for his medication that is $7092.00 for chemo treatment. He has no insurance, and is not able to get the care he needs. I have beenhelping him in getting some assistance, but there is just so much red tape it is taking a while, and they have him on hold for his medical needs.

He recently got an apartment, and has gotten a few items of furntiture thanks to great people out there such as yourself. He still needs a bed room set, and some living room furntiture. I hate to see him sleeping on the floor, and see the pain he is in with his illness. He struggles everyday to getup, and I just wanted to see if maybe he could be placed on this list for the holidays. He does not have any income coming in, and cannot afford to get the things he needs at the moment. God Bless, and Happy Holidays!

Courtney Williams

Geraldine Gage

I am asking for help for my granddaughter and her two daughters. She is 22, girls are 1 and 5. She is working 2 jobs and watching other childre on her limited time off to try and make it. She has a bed and no other funiture. They moved from Illinois in April of this year and have been struggling just to pay rent, fuel and buy food. There is no money left over for funiture or toys. Can you help make this Christmas special for them?

Tish Billups

To whom it may concern my name is Lisha and i am a grandma and now a foster parent i am asking help for christmas this year.I am not sure what to tell you so i will start at the beginning,so please be patient.About 4 months ago i open my home to a freind her daughter ,her daughters boyfreind and her uncle.I had lost my job and my son had been looking for a job we thought with them helping us we would be ok.Instead my freinds daughter stoled the rent i had saved from my ssi and then left .Instead of my freind paying what her daughter stole she bought a car and moved out as well. The uncle promised to stay and help but he left as well.I have just got my job back butg the damage is already done.Me my son his wife his 2 year old son my 6 month granddaughter and the special needs 1 year old i am trying to adopt are now fighting to keep our home, our lights water and gas.I am so behind in bills that they are all i can pay.I have no money for christmas,my daughter in law put up our christmas lighs and the stockings alredy. When asked why from our other freinds she said because she didnt know how long we would be in our home and she wanted the babies to see what it would be like.My heart is hurting to know it was my decision that put us in this mess.I truely beleived that if you helped someone in need exspecially a freind you were doing the right thing,I can only work part time i am disabled and try my best.My son has curviture of the spine and it is hard to find work but he cuts grass and does odd jobs, but we are so far behind in our bills that the little we do have left in money must go to diapers and other things the children need.I Even us collecting cans is not enough for us to make sure the children have toys.So any help you would give would be so appreciated.Thank you and god bless.

Misti

Dear Mattress Mack,

10 years ago I started down a line of blessing and distress. I was diagonsis with Cancer of the Pelvis that landed me confined to a wheelchair. Then 2 years later, I was diagnosis witha 2nd cancer that disfigured me by taking 2/3's of my upper lip.
It is hard now to work in the public because so much is jugded by looks and I see the stares I get. It hurts sometimes, but I know that there are others that have it alot harded then myself.
I raised my daughter alone. And now I live with my daughter, and granddaughter. In 2008 I lived in Alvin when the hurrican hit the house I rented. A tree went through the roof. We lost all my bedroom furniture. I spend all my time now in a recliner. I don't work outside the home, and live on disability. My legs swell so much when I have them down so if I cant get them elevated up, I have severe problems.
My old recliner that I now sleep in does not put my feet up high enough, and I do not have the money for a bed to replace my old adjustable one, or my recliner that elevated my feet.
My daughters bed went through the hurricane, but we had to keep it so she would have somewhere to sleep. Is there anything you can do to help us with beds and a plus size reclincer?
Thank you for taking time out of you day to read my letter.

Sincerely,
Misti

Rachelle Music

Dear Mattress Mack,

I would like to nominate my mother in-law. She is amazing, she has had 7 spine surgeries, and several neck surgeries, plus she just had 2 knee surgeries recently. She has to have huge needles injected into her skull and spine annually to keep her out of daily excruciating pain, and yet she still has a smile on her face. Right now the furniture they have is garage sale finds, and it is not comfortable for her so she ends up in bed a lot. I would love to see her have something nice where she can comfortably sit and relax. Her husband was in a serious car accident within the last month or so, and he also has been having pain etc, so I know he would also like to have somewhere comfortable to sit. Plus they don't have a table, and my brother in law lives with her and her husband, and he has no where to sleep. I know she would greatly appreciate it, and she truely deserves something nice.

Thank you,
Rachelle

Also you are a true blessing, and an inspiration for others :)

lawanda bible

Dear Mattress Mack

HI my name is Lawanda Bible , I am a single mother of three young children 8,6 and 3.
I have recently filed for divorce and have lost everything in a rental home.
My children and I are having to start completely over, we are at my parents right now but are planning to move out on our own, and start our new beginning. My children have very rarely ever had anything new and this would be such a wonderful thing for them. None of us have beds, dresser or anything. We have baskets we put our clothes in and are managing but it would be so nice to actually be able to sleep on a bed and put our clothes in a drawer. I know it probably sounds so petty but little thing make such a big difference, and I have such wonderful kids and they are so appreciative. It would my us so happy if you would please consider sponsering our family this christams holiday

Dear Sir,

I would like to nominate my sister, Diana Huvar. She has been ill for the past fifteen years. At present she is confined to a wheelchair. Everyone comes to her with their problems and troubles and even though she has her own problems she always finds a way to help them find a solution. Before her illnesses, she has venous static ulcers on her legs and due to the blisters that form she never complains, and now she has acquired diabetes and now is insulin dependent. Diana taught junior high language arts for 15 years at St.Philip the Apostle School . She also was a GED instructor at Wharton County Junior College for 11 yeaars. In the GED classes she was the answer to the prayers of numerous of her students and paved the way for many students to enroll in college and helped make their future better. She is well known in our community as someone who cares for all. Diana and her husband,Phil have been married for 42 years and in that time they both have had numerous illnesses.
Phil has had colon cancer and numerous eye surgeries. Both of them work very hard to pay their overwhelming medical bills. Even with insurance the amounts remaining are staggering. In 2006 Diana began a Prayer Blanket Ministry where the blankets are blessed, constructed, and prayed over by our parishiloners. Diana and Phil recently moved and their furniture is in need of replacement. Their bedroom furniture is over 35 years old. Diana would very much appreciate a new sofa and recliner, due to the ulcers on her legs she sleeps in a recliner every night. Her present recliner is very much in need of a replacement. Diana never has the funds to purchase any new furniture. She is a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt and a great friend to many. Thank you for allowing me to nominate my sister, Diana Huvar, to receive a sofa or recliner. If she is asked about this nomination she would be very humble, and suggest that someone probably needs help more. But everyone in our family and her friends would all agree she is very worthy to be blessed by your company. I thank you most sincerely and wish God'blessings on Gallery Furniture and its staff for what is does to make deserving individuals happy.

I am a mother of 4 children, 3 of which are disabled. I have been divorced since 1994. We have not had beds to sleep on for many years and our living room furniture came from a thrift shop may years ago of which is in very bad condition now. A house full of new furniture would be such a wonderful and beautiful blessing. I do not know the eligability qualifications for your Christmas give-away, and would appreciate information pertaining to this. Thank you sincerely, T.Porche

Tracy

Dear Mr. Mack
Hello! My name is Tracy, I am a proud Army Wife and mother of two children. My husband is active duty military and we have moved all over the world and when we move we have to often get rid of furniture or the movers break it and we never have bought "quality" items. I would love to have a Master Bedroom set, a place to go to relax and have as "ours" when he is home. My husband has been deployed 2 times, our son was born while he was deployed the first time. My son would LOVE bunk beds and my daughter loves anything pretty! Finally, with the constant moving the military men and women we serve with become family and I would love a dinning table that would seat more than just my family of four. I would love to have soldiers over for holidays when they are far from family! Thank you for what you are doing for the families of Houston!

Dear Mattress Mack,

I am writing on behalf of my mother, Shelia. She would really like a bedroom-suit because she has had the same mattress for over 12 years and her bedroom-suit since 1985-1986. She is on permanent disability from the post office. My mom has several chronic illnesses that cause her to toss and turn all night with no relief from the pain.
I would love to be able to help her out with this but I cannot. I hate to ask the help of Mattress Mack but I cannot stand to see her suffer any longer. Any help you can provide would be above, beyond and greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
A son in need

Jhosetta Trahan

I am writing to you on behalf of my sister Illisia Gaines about the CHRISTMAS Give-A-Way. She is taking care of her son and her husband who is CONFINED TO THE BED. He had a heart attack awhile back and my sister had no phone so she had to find one before she could call 911. Because of a lack of oxygen to the BRAIN, he has become bed ridden. My sister has a 5 year old son who could use bedroomfurniture and some toys for Christmas. They could also use new furniture for the front room and the bedrooms. Marquis( her son) has no bedroom fruniture. he sleeps with her because his room is empty. She could also use a washer and dryer being that she NEVER GETS TO LEAVE THE HOUSE LONG ENOUGH TO DO ANYTHING. MARK ANATHONY (her HUSBAND WHO IS BED RIDDEN) CANNOT BE LEFT ALONE. SO SHE DOES NOT AND CANNOT WORK. She has be to at home at all times and I think her situation could really use some joy. She has given up her own life to take care of him and it would be such a BLESSING if she was to be picked for your GIVE-A-Way. And I know you would not be disappointed when you help her. She could really use this blessing. It will be a long time before she is able to getany furniture because they are LIVING OFF OF HIS DISABILITY which barley covers the rent. Not much else is left for anything but cleaning supplies, maybe. So if you could be a blessing to my sister Illisia her son Marquis and her husband Mark Anathony we would all be overwhelmed. Thank you so much. Jhosetta Trahan

Dear Mr. Mack
I am a veteran of the first Gulf War and a single father of two teenagers who receives no child support. The hours at my job got reduced to 10 per week. I get additional money by doing yard work. I receive food stamps. I wanted to know if I could get a bunk bed for my kids and a mattress for myself. I also would like to know if you are hiring. Thank you.

Marissa Solis

Dear Matress Mack,
My name is Mariss Solis. I am writing to you in reguard to your houseful of furniture for X-mas program. My bedroom consist of a old dresser from my mom's bedroom set with no mirror and a desk I got whe i was about 8 years old. My matress set was my grandmothers, which I got when she passed away in 2005, the only thing new is my bed frame. Our living room is a futon and recliner my mom got from a garage sell. My mom bought a board for the futon so it wouldn't sink in because sometime she sleep there as her bedroom. Which the bedroom consist of a chest drawers and a mat on the floor. My dad sleeps on the recliner. As much as we would like new furniture for Christmas all I really am asking for is a bed for my dad. You see my dad has been in and out of the hospital for congestive heart failure and he is unable to lay flat as it makes him feel like he is drowning in fluid. So my mom will sleep on the futon so she can be near my dad on the recliner. It would be nice to have one of those beds that you can adjust each side to your prefence, so my mom and dad could both have a place to sleep. Mom and I agree, that if this letter can result in getting dad a hospital bed so he can have his head up and his feet elevated to help with swelling in feet and legs, and make him more confortable, we would be forever grateful.

Thank you for your consideration.
May God bless and May you have a Merry Christmas. :)
Marissa Solis.

Dear Mr. Mattress Mack,

This has been a most heart breaking year for us. My daughter who turned 24 in October 2010 was diagnosed with cancer on April 26, 2010 a very aggressive cancer that can not be located and cannot be targeted to try and destroy it. She has received different types of chemo but they have not worked. We are praying for a miracle that the Lord will cure or prolong my daughters life. She has lost well over 70 pounds and needs assistance to basically do everything. I have not received any much needed equipment from a hospital bed to a wheel chair so its very hard to move her around. If it is in you will I would like to see if you would surprise my daughter with a bedroom set or whatever you may be able to donate to her as we don't know how long we may have her. Thank you for your time.

Dear Mr. Mack
I am nominating the Sorto family for the furniture give away. Mr. Sorto (31 yrs old) was involved in a severe car accident in March 2010 and is now a quadriplegic. At the time of the accident he and his wife of 13 years had 3 children age 11,8 and 6. Over the course of his 4 month hospital stay his wife found out they were expecting baby #4. They delivered this sweet baby girl 3 weeks ago. The family is very poor. They live in a single wide mobile home. The father recieves a small disability check each month wich most of wich goes toward medicine and medical supplies because they have no health insurance. Apparently once you recieve disability there is a 2 year wait till you qualify for medicare bennifits. The sister-inlaw and her 8 year old daughter moved in to help with the 24/7 care a quadriplegic requires. There is a total of 3 adults and 5 children now living in the mobile home. Their church has helped to build a handicap ramp in the home but that is the only part of it that is handicap accessible. They are also in desprate need of a handicap van. As of now the only time Mr. Sorto leaves the home is to go to the Dr. This reqires 3 men to lift him into a car, then lift his 350lb wheelchair into the back of a pickup truck and follow behind. The story of this family is just so heartbreaking and the need is unreal. God bless you for anything you can do to help.

Dear Mattress Mack (Santa),

My famliy has always been strong, full of pride, and hope. We have always been blessed to give and share with others in their time of need, especially during Christmas. It's sometimes overwhelming to see the support offered, and until I saw your commercial I never considered asking anyone but the man above to assist a loved one in need. My oldest daughter, age 36, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Inflammatory Breast Cancer in September of this year. She has been an avid supporter of this cause, but it never really hits home until you see the owner of your heart go through this life changing disease. She's undergoing chemo treatments every week, and is suffering from the side effects of neuropathy. She has nothing comfortable to sleep on, except an 10+ year old spring mattress. She's still trying to find ways to support this cause by coming up with ideas to create her own web site, and she never puts herself first. She somehow manages to find the strength to go to work everyday, support her family, and take care of my two granchildren. It's just not feasible for our family this year to give her everything she needs, and from the bottom of my heart if I could just offer her some comfort through this difficult time would be the greatest gift of all next to a mother's love.

With great thanks for a joyful oppurtunity,

The Krummel Family

Hello, my family and i are in desperate need of help this year. First of all my father suffered a serious accident to the face and had to have a major face surgery that took place on October 16, 2010 and now is living with me in my home. Its hard because now my dad has to share a room with my son and they dont have a fit bed nor other items for clothes etc; That hurt the family very much and sad part is im the only one working and having to support 4 children, my father and my husband who is also unable to work at the time. Second reason im asking for some help is our family suffered another tradegy on November 28th, 2010. My sisters husband suffered a severe accident and was life flighted to Memorial Herman Hospital which he is still there as we speak. He had several broken ribs, his lung collapsed and had to have half of it removed, also suffered heart problems and is on several breathing machines. Doctors expect him to recover just not sure how soon. Sergio, the person that was hurt is in need of a good bed for when he comes home they are pretty much sleeping on a matress thrown on the floor. We are asking for your help in this time of the year knowing that so many things have happened to our family and we are finically unstabled. My sister and her husband also have two small children.Thank you very much and god bless. My name is Crystal and my contact number is 832-266-6975 my sisters name is Amber and her contact number is 281-690-3240

I am an English teacher in a very low socio-economic district of Freeport, Texas. One of my 11th grade student's house burned to the ground and she and her entire family lost all of their belongings in their rent house including their car. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Muzzy and their four children are very poor and are in desperate straits. Please consider putting them on your list for receiving whatever you can afford to give them. I know they would greatly appreciate anything you can do.

Dear Mattress Mack,

I am 33 years old, I have three children one boy age 3 and two girls ages 11 and 15.
I just moved in my own apartment a couple of months ago and Im truely blessed because of that. I do work but it only seems to cover the bills and sometimes not all. I have always held my own and can't wait to be blessed to do that again, but this year it has been an amazing struggle, but I will continue to look up because I believe in God and the works of him. it pains my heart to see my children not being able to eat at a table, or having to sit on the floor while watching the small tv. they have beds which are old but theirs, I have a bed frame but no mattress so I sleep on the floor. I'm not complaining and I'm very thankful for the little that we have, However I and my children would be a grateful if you could see in your heart to send us a Christmas Blessing.
Thanks

Hi Mattress Mack
I would like to nominate a family for your Christmas Give A Way at Gallery Furniture. Her name is Dollie and she is 85+ years old and the primary caretaker for her 3 mentally handicap daughters whose age range from 50-60 years old. She has been on a fixed income with assistance from the State for years. She faced many health issues as well but I can say God has spared her life for the sake of her kids. She has sacrificed so much for them. She has been living in the Houston area for over 15 years now for better health facilities for herself and her daughters. Neither of her daughters have a social life or even know how to socialize or communicate with others due to their handicap. She has never learned how to drive or even had a job and walks everywhere she goes unless family take her. However, we think she prefers to walk to better her health and for a peace of mind. Even at her age, she prepares full some form of a meal daily for her family. They really never had much of a Christmas no matter how hard we try. Unfortunately the home she recently moved into do not provide her as much space but she had to move when her other landlord gave her a 25 day eviction notice. Unfortunately, in March 2010 another daughter of hers passed away and she is now caring for her grandkids in which one of them has a slow learning disability. As stated she is on a fixed income and unable to purchase any new furniture. At this time she sleeps on the couch, while the others 5 sleep in twin beds. Some of the beds in the home do not have a mattress but is topped with quilts and a foam mattress pad to provide some form of comfort. One of the things we recently heard her say is that she wanted a nice black sofa set and something better for everyone to sleep on. She is not looking for any sympathy but I would love for her and her family to be able to have a real Christmas with something just for them. Therefore I am asking for you to please consider making her a recipient of your Christmas Give a Way at Gallery Furniture.

BEATRICE GONZALES

Dear Mattress Mack,
I am writing to you in regards of my daughter Samantha. She is a 22 year old single mother of 2 that is unemployed. I pay her rent so she can have a roof over her head for her and the kids, David whom is 7 and Heaven whom is 5. Can you please bless her with some furniture. Any thing would help. Right now she and her babies are sleeping on a queen size mattress that we found in an empty apartment. She has a small end table that she uses for her little television she has. Samantha has been looking for work its just so hard since the end of year is here so therefor no one is hiring. If at all can you bless her with beds for the kids. I help as much as I can, but its not so easy as I too am a single mother. Praise God I have a job to be able to do my best for us both. Please consider blessing Samantha this CHRISTmas. Thank you so much and God bless you Mr. Mack.

Dear Mattress Mack,

I would like to nominate my Mom and Dad for this. All my mother wants for Christmas is a couch set, she is a breast cancer patient and is constantly in and out of the hospital. My father has worked hard his whole life and provided for his family without anyone's help, but he too developed severe health problems also and had to quit working and is now on a fixed income. They had a couch until recently when they had to sell it on Craigslist because my parents medicines went up in price and they didn't have the money to purchase them. I live with my parents because I try my best to take care of them and do the same things they have done for me my whole life. I work from home, but do not make much money. I know there are people who are struggling even worse than us and I pray for them also. This would be such a surprise for her when she gets home from the hospital because she likes to sit with the family and hates having to be in bed all day, even though the doctor tells her to. She is back in the hospital again, to make matters worse, she suffered a stroke last week. My mother always puts everyone first before herself and this year I wanted her to have something that would brighten her day. Bad luck seems to follow my family wherever we go, so this year I am hoping for a little good luck. Thanks and Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Dear Mr.Mack I was writting this letter for myself after talking to my daughter who wrote you for me, but after reading so many of your post I can manage..If I don't come up with 2300.00 I will be evicted with a nine yr old and Im trying very hard to give him a good Christmas, but my problem is not as bad as some you already have here.I might be evicted but the Love I show my son I think we will be okay.. Feliz Navidad, Mr Mack,
I am writing in hopes that this letter will find it's way into a small space in your heart for helping my son. I know that during this season you are hard at work making sure needy families are helped. My son is a single parent raising 2 boys(Jz age 11 and Jesse age 4) Both mothers abandoned the babies at birth. He never folded he said he would never abandon his boys. For the last 5 years they have been living in a 3 room duplex and this November he was able to move into a 3 bedroom home. The home is an older home built in the 50's in the pasadena area. It needs repair but he does not let that get him down. He repairs whatever he can on the weekends or when he gets off of work. He has managed to find beds for the children and a couch on craigslist, and I found some used appliances for the kitchen. But he still has no bed for himself or drawers to store their clothes. He is a good daddy works very hard, very frugal, tries very hard to make his boys happy as well as healthy and safe. I am nominating him and his boys for your Christmas give-a-ways. I appreciate you Mr. Mack

Dear Mattress Mack,

Merry Christmas. I would like to nominate a tremendous woman who is raising my great nephew. He was a surprise and the parents are not around to help raise him. My neice abandoned him and the father works out of town. This woman has welcomed me into her and her grandson's life with open arms. She put everything in her life on hold to care for this little guy. She does so much for him and he is her life. She is so unselfish and does very little for herself. Her little house needs work but she doesn't have very much in the inside either. In her line of work, she is contracted. The last person she did work for only paid her a small portion of what he owed her. She is so proud and never asks for anything. So I would like to ask for her. My great nephew is 3 now. He is a gift from heaven, most of the time.

Please, please consider her for your annual Christmas Giveaway. I have never met anyone in my life that motivated me to write you. You do so much every year. I truly hope you will consider her for this year's giveaway. Thank you for considering her.

Dear Mr and Mrs Mack

I have never ask for anything, I come from a big family and we help each other when in need but with the economy like it is things have been tight for us all. My sister had a bus wreck in the 80,s and has several surgeries on her back. When they took in their granddaughter and her baby they gave up their king bed to her because they could not move it to the smaller room. She does not sleep well now because the bed is small and hard on her back. If you could find it in your heart this year to help her out I will be forever grateful to you both.
Thanks Mary

Hi Mattress Mack I would like to nominate a family who lost everything in a house fire on Thanksgiving Day. They are my neighbors. They were away visiting family in Arkansas. Mr and Mrs Beebe are raising their 5 & 6 year old grandaughters because they lost their mother a few years ago in a car accident. I do not know were their father is. They are now living in a tiny apartment on the back of their property. The grandmother also has I think a brother who was staying in that apt. who is on oxegen. I know the family would need to have a house first and they have begun to clean up the area for a new house and I just know that new furniture would be the icing on the cake after going through so much with the little girls. Thank you.

Dear Mattress Mack,
I would like to nominate a family for your Christmas House of furniture. They have been trying to have a baby for 5 years and without the help of fertility clinics they are expecting, to thier suprise, Triplets. They have no beds for these new arrivals and live in a house with The mothers sister (who is also expecting the same month), her husband and 2 year old daughter. I know that they will be hard pressed just caring for all the babies as well as trying to afford all the extra cost that will eventually come. They also are going to have to get another vehicle, as the one they have is not big enough to fit 3 car seats in. I would appreciate any consideration for this family.
Thank You

Dear Mattress Mack,
I am writing you to request a new bed or bedroom set for my 12 year old daughter. She is a hardworking Honor Roll student at KIPP & and a great athlete. The bed in her room now, I bought used 5 yrs ago& the wood in the box spring is cracked. I have been able to piece her furniture together, but it would be great if she had 1) a new mattress/bed for proper rest or 2) a bedroom set that she could be proud of. I am a single mom and I do work full time, but struggle with maintaining the day to day necessities. I would also be willing to work part time in consideration for the furniture. Thank you for any consideration to this request.

I would like to nominate a family for your Christmas House of furniture. It is a single father raising his 4 daughters on his own. 3 times their mother has walked out of their lives and left them. He just found out he will be a grandfather in a few months and found a 4 bedroom house for them to live in. They've moved in but only have 2 bed sets, 1 is very old, and living room furniture. No dining set or bedroom sets for the other girls rooms. He is self employed so he can work his schedule around their school. He receives no child support at all, as they have no idea where the mother is at. They are struggling to find other furniture. He's searched want ads, craigslist and etc. trying to find inexpensive furniture for his girls. I know what it would mean to them to have new furniture. The youngest would love to have a set of bunk beds as they are 8 & 6 and share a room. The next would like any bed with a desk and dresser. Any dining furniture that can seat 5 would be good. The oldest daughter has a very old white furniture set with bad mattresses and it's not comfortable with her being pregnant. She's wanting white so she can match the baby's furniture and make their room special. They have no end tables or lamps in the living room, just sofa and love seat. I couldn't think of a better family to help out this year. He is trying so hard to raise these girls and now another child will be added to provide for. He's a great father and his children adore him. They've been through so much heartache everytime their mother decided she wanted to do her thing and left. He has full custody of these girls and she won't be back in the picture. He has lots of friends who are very supportive of him and the girls and even giving a baby shower to try and help with the new one. I hope that you will consider this family as they need it desperately. Thank you.

I think that Mattress Mack is an incredible individual. As a member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, I have watched him for years, give back to the children of our communities, and help them with much needed scholarships. I now have two grandchildren who are in F.F.A. and 4-H, who need some assistance with show animals. They moved to Houston recently, and I am encouraging them to participate in one of the most fulfilling events that they will ever encounter. They are being raised by a single Mother who works very hard to make ends meet, and fulfill their needs. IF anyone has it in their heart to help these two young men experience what showing an animal in a local show, and understanding the importance of taking pride and responsibility of an animal means, I would be elated.

BRENDA J. COLEMAN (SOCIAL WORKER)

Christmas give-away.
To the owner of Gallery furniture:

I am a social worker and have a client in need of a recliner and a sofa for her small apartment. She lost all her furniture in a fire and did not have insurance to cover the lost. She has been in her apt for 1 yr. with only a bed (donated). She is on limited income and can not afford to buy any furniture. She is single and her children are not supportive. Could you please consider this female client as a recipient of your Christmas give away for this year. She uses a walker and sits on the floor. Your kindness will be appreciated.

Thank you,

In practice, each state has adopted a three branch system of government generally along the same lines as that of the federal government—though this is not a requirement.
