Joseph Goeloe

Dear Mattress Mack, My name is Joseph and I am nominating my mother for the furniture giveaway for the holidays. My mother is a very hard working, spirited woman who takes care of her handicapped son all by herself. My brother is a 28 year old man who has epilepsy and cerebral palsy and at times its very difficult on my mother physically and financially, but she does her very best never complaining and always staying optimistic. My mother just recently had to get rid of all her furniture due to a bed bug infestation and was unable to buy furniture due to the cost of the exterminator. She and my brother now sleep on air mattresses and are truly in need of furniture. My mother means everything to me and is well deserving of this blessing. It would be so awesome if you consider her and my brother for the furniture give away. I would appreciate it greatly! Thank you & Merry Christmas! Sincerely, Joseph

Crystal

Hello! My name is Crystal and I’m 29 years of age. I moved south of my hometown to Huntsville, where I received my Bachelor’s of Criminal Justice. Since graduation, I moved to North Houston in search of a job where I can utilize my degree. It has been over a year and I have worked jobs that paid just enough to get me by with home responsibilities and student loans.
The last apartment I lived in, all my furniture was passed down to me from different people. I actually found my couch set in the dumpster at one of my jobs.
Later in the year, because of health issues, I was out of work due to being hospitalized. I fell behind in bills and therefore, could no longer afford my apartment and had to get rid of all my furniture.
As of now, I have a part-time job and a new place with no means to get new furniture. The only thing I have in my apartment is an air mattress and a T.V. I’m so glad I seen the commercial because I absolutely need the furniture.

Hello Mr. Mack,

I was hoping to enter my cousin Conisha Wyatt into your Christmas furniture give away. She's an honest 32yr old mother of three and I do believe she deserves something nice like this. Because of the life she's lived thus far, she is always the type of person to help out anybody asking for help. Family, friends or people she's just met and more then often she's taken advantage of for no reason or just because people feel like they can. She does what she can to make sure her kids have what they need. Her kids mostly have items that family members have given to them so they may have something. But I think she sleeps on an air mattress with her 2yr old and there's a baby bed for her 11 month old. Her 10yr old son has a bed that was given to him a few years ago but I know it's pretty run down. I would just like to see something nice happen for her just once without it being thrown in her face or meaning she has to repay it somehow. She is and all around woman and very caring not only for family but to anyone she meets. And it would mean the world to me if she could receive this blessing of new furniture for her and her kids.

Thank you & GOD bless,

Maricela Martinez

Laurel Hernandez

Hi Mr. Mac....my name is Laurel and I married Roberto Dec. 21st, 12 years ago. He served in the Army and the Guard. Last year he went to Michael Debakey VA hospital to get his eyes checked and they discovered a large blood clot in his brain and they admitted him and found several more blood clots in his lungs. He was in the hospital for 27 days. They also found over 100 colon polyps and need to remove his large intestine. He has diabetes and sleep apnea and sleeps with oxygen every night. He is a proud man and over the years people make fun of him because he sounds funny when he talks. I met him five years after losing my last husband of 27 yrs. to cancer and had lost my Mom the year before. I saw something in Roberto that nobody else seems to see and God tells me this is where I need to be. I recently had to have surgery and so we have no money coming in and I have had to ask for help from area churches and services. This has been very hard but you do what you have to do to help out. He applied for disability since he can't drive truck anymore but we haven't heard anything yet. I am writing you in hopes of lifting his spirits for Christmas. I would really appreciate it if we could get a new mattress set cause many nights he wakes up early cause his back hurts...our mattress is 20 yrs. old. Our other furniture is in bad shape also and I am looking for a job but it's hard without a laptop. I have to go to the library to make out applications. I just want to brighten his Christmas if I can and make things better for him. I promise we would appreciate it and pass on God's blessings where we can. You and your family give back so much to the area and I have so much respect for you. Merry Christmas to you and yours...Laurel

Linsi Thomas

Dear Mr. Mack, My name is Linsi Thomas. I am a single mother to a wonderful three year old daughter named Madeline Jane. We are blessed to live in a home owned by my sister and brother-in-law. They are kind enough to charge me only $500 a month in rent which is what it costs them to own it. I am a hairdresser and I work from home. We are so lucky to be able to have an affordable place to live and work and a yard for Madeline to play. All that being said its still a struggle to get all the bills paid on time while being a full time stay at home mom and the bread winner at the same time. My daughters father tries to help out with child support but he is a full time student and is rarely able to pay it. I try really hard to make the best of this fixer upper home unfortunately its difficult to have the time money and energy to do it all at the same time. Almost all of our furniture is hand-me-down items that are all miss matched and don't really fit our house or our needs. Its so hard for me to try to keep things organized when I really don't have any storage solutions. I've always been taught "a place for everything and everything in its place" but I just don't have near enough places. I would love so much to be able to have a comfortable organized home to raise Madeline in. It would also be so nice to feel like there is something of us in our home maybe even a rocking chair for Madi and mommy to relax in after a long day. Also, not having to constantly apologize to clients for my weird ugly house when they come in to use the bathroom would be such a blessing. I just cringe when someone sees it for the first time. I did find an awesome deal on a used solid wood table for only $70 and I think once I put some work into it it will be really nice. Even as it is we are so glad to finally have a table to eat at. I know I may not be the most deserving person to be given such a gift I am far from perfect but it would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter and for having such a generous spirit to give this opportunity.

Merry Christmas, Linsi & Madeline

I would like to nominate the Malone Family whose apartment home caught fire and they lost everything. Nikki Malone is a long-time employee of Suzanne Bruce & Associates. Their heart wrenching story was featured on KHOU Channel 11 news. Whitney Malone was expecting a baby and they lost a year's worth of diapers and baby supplies.
I'm sure they would appreciate any and all help they can get.

Dear Mr. Mack,
I am a single mom and teacher who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I am now in remission, and will soon be moving into a rental home. This Christmas, we only ask for a living room set, one queen bed, and two drawer sets. I'm grateful for having been able to work through chemo and radiation, but with my medical bills it's still been difficult to make ends meet.

LindaCaldwell

Mr.Mack,
My father Bill Hutchison has worked since he was 12. He served his Country as a Marine. Has overcome Prostate cancer, a Brain stem stroke and the recent death of my Mother. They were married 64 years. He always saved and invested and retired 20 years ago. A few years ago he lost all his pension in 401/stock market. He does not need anything but a new Recliner so he could be comfortable why he watches his favorite past time Football. He lives on his social security only and a new recliner is a perk we cannot afford. He is 85. Thank you you are awesome and everything you do for the community is great!

Hello! I am requesting to be entered into the furniture give-away because it would help us. I am a single mother with teenage daughter's that work very hard in school. My daughter is 19 and attends college and lives at home. My youngest daughter attends Health Professions High School and is a senior this year. We have been sleeping on our mattresses since moving into our home in 2002. Being a single mother is hard to purchase furniture because so much of your money goes to providing for you children. It hard seeing them work so hard in school and never complain about sleeping on mattress that are layered with comforters for comfort. I have tried to save money for new mattresses but there would be something that always came up to where I would have to postpone those plans. I am just asking for help for mattresses for them so they can get a proper rest so that they can focus on their education. As for me, yes my mattress is just as old however as least for the holidays they can have a gift of comfort. Why? Am I requesting this because I do not have money to purchase mattress, and still maintain household expenses. Thanks for the opportunity!

Dear Gallery Furniture Family. My name is Josephine "Bay" Delgado I am 47 years old and I am a care-giver for 3 patients. One is 86, 84, and my best friend 55 who has breast, bone, lung, liver, and now spine cancer. We live in a small house in Baytown Texas. Her mattress is no good for her or her back. Sometimes she will stay with me in my room which I have to get her a chair to get up on my bed. They replaced her hip 1 1/2 years ago and so she uses a walker. We just began her third round of chemotherapy for the second time and all I am asking for is a little help with our furniture. All we have is some hand me downs and a set of bunk beds. Nothing is ours it is mostly borrowed by family. Best Wishes to You and Yours this Holiday. I know that some people have it even worse than I do.

debrabaldwin

Amanda Collins

Mr. Mack, thank you for taking the time to read my request. I am not one to ask for help, I am a mom, that has worked 3 jobs at once to put my daughter through school, restart my life after a painful divorce. I am not asking for a house full of furniture, just 2 beds and dressor and couch to sit on. I have been with out a bed for over 9 years, I have worked to provide for me and my daughter, with out the assistance of the government or help or handouts, but when I saw a chance to possible have a bed for the first time in my life that I could call my own, I set my pride aside and decided to write in. I am still paying off things from the past, and paying for my daughter to attend pv university. I am not a sad sob story, I am thankful that God has allowed me to final be in a new home, and I look forward to any enjoyed days in it, it would just be a nice fill to come home to a bed and couch, it doesn't have to be new, it can be something that someone has returned, I can clean it and vaccum it my self. I just long for a bed with lots of pillows.(lol) I know it sounds childish, but thank you for taking the time to read my letter, you have a blessed day, and whom every you choose to help, may the grace of God continue to be with you.

Dear Mr. Mack:
On Saturday, November 24, 2013 on KHOU Channel ll News @ 10:00 there was a family by the name of Malone. The family was going to St. Joseph Hospital because the daughter was going to have a baby, while at the hospital they received a telephone call. Their house was on fire and they had lost everything. A baby shower had been held recently for the new Mom and all of those gifts had been destroyed. This is a tragic thing for this family, but, the thing that really touched my heart was the statement from the ten year old son who stated, "my main focus is to make my mommy happy again." I do not know this family personally, but my heart goes out to them for their terrible loss. I certainly hope that you can do something nice for this family so that they can have a better holiday.

Hello Mr. Mattress Mack. I have two grandson who are twins. They are so nice and respectful. They will be 17 years old in January. I am asking for twin beds with mattresses for them. They currently sleep on boards and they complain of back pain. Their mother barely makes enough to cover rent. I am struggling to provide for myself. I wish I could do more for them but I heard about your Christmas Giveaway and I thought this would be a perfect chance to try and help them get a decent bed to rest on. They are in High school and currently doing very well in their classes. I pray you will accept them as one of your families to help. Thank you and God Bless you!

J Edwards

I was really touched by the KHOU Channel 11's story of the Malone Family fire. The mother had done everything right by supporting her family and getting the new items for her daughter's upcoming baby. But I was most touched by the sons, her teenaged son's concern for his mother and their family's closeness was touching. I am most concerned for the mother, she looked so filled with despair that I couldn't help but send you an email that I would like to help and asking Gallery Furniture to please consider this family for your furniture giveaway. They have lost everything and arson is suspected.
We have all been at the point of despair and I think if you give the Malone family this furniture she would understand that GOD will always provide that window of hope to us so that we know He LOVES US, so would you be that window of hope for this family? I sure hope so.

Thank you,

Ms. Edwards

annie gold

This is minister annie gold I'm writing because I heard of the christmas giveaway I know a young lady in need of furniture her name is otearia streeter her mother put her out and she just found an apartment luckily but she's just starting out she doesn't have anything it will be greatly appreciated if you could bless her with some furniture anything is appreciated and gladly accepted

Cathie Owen

Dear Gallery Furniture Family,
I wish I could tell you their names, but on KHOU, this evening, I watched a family's home go up in flames. They await a new baby and were at the hospital when the tragedy struck. The thing that touched me most was the children living there, they weren't so concerned about the fact that all their toys were gone, they just want their Mother to be happy. Y'all can make Mom happy again. Please help this family put it back together. God bless you all, Mac. Most Sincerely, Cathie O

Matress Mac
I am writing to you today for my daughter.
Her husband of 21 years has a hard time holding down a job due to back problems. She and her husband have two children. One is Holly who will be 21 in January/2014. Their son Zac who is 15 constantly has problems
in school and every day life. He has had several seisures. The seisures go and come.
He may go several days or several months with out having one. He has had a seisure at school. His dad (David) has to stay beside his cell phone as we never know when Zac will have a seisure. They have little furniture. I have
given them a car so David will have transportation to pick Zac up when a problem arises. I also gave them the dinnet table from my daughters great gramdomther. It is an inexpensive table w/four chairs which needs work but is working at the moment. My daughter works at St. Lukes hospital. With her salary and the small amount that ssi gives Zac is the only way they scrape by.j
The four of them live in a two bedroom apartment. Furniture would be such a blessing and would relieve a tremendous amount of stress from my daughter.

Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
thank you

Dear Jim and family, I don't usually ask for anything, but I really need a couch. I have been singely supporting 7 people the last two years on my ss and a small retirement check. I am 70 and have just conquered cancer and a broken pelvis. My couches gave out this summer while I was trying to recover.
I have been following you since Paul Bosch and wrestling days in Houston. A nice man who is friends with a president.

Deborah Garces

Hi Mack, I'm not writing for me, although I do need 2 new bed mattresses(for myself and my son), we had since 1999. The reason I am writing to you is for my parents, you know how hard it is to work all these years to finally retire and try to remodel your home, well, my dad hired a contractor and got robbed($25,000), yea I agree he made the biggest mistake in believing and trusting, but now, he's going through so much to try to finish what they messed up. You can imagine the rest. I want to try to make my parents happy by making their day, since my dad lost his sister, then brother-in-law within a month, and my mom, well, she's going through alot with her own sister, who has Dementia(Alzheimer's), I try to help as much as I can also, it's stressful, upsetting, heartbreaking, and she's also a breast cancer survivor, but the doctors are saying, it doesn't look good for her, she's had 2 small attacks already, and my mom is at her wits end. So I am just trying to take a chance on this giveaway. I remember when I bought my first piece of new furniture from your store, thanks for your business and Happy Holidays to you and to your Family...

Virginia McCants

Dear Gallery Furniture Family,

I am writing this letter in hope that it will be read by you. I have a son, Matthew, who is a Sargent in the Marine Corp stationed at Camp Pendleton, in California. He has served 8 yrs, and 2 tours in Iraq. He reinlisted for 2 more yrs to go for a Staff Sargent position. During all this he is also up to be deployed if a situation arises. Well his family came in August and moved in with our daughter and Matthew's twin sister. With his work, class time and all of the other physical things he must do and the threat of deployment he felt they would be better off here with other family. Life has been hard and my daughter-in-law hasn't found work. She has a son by previous marriage has been with my son since he was 2. Now he is 8 and calls Matt his dad. They also have my granddaughter, Serenity who is 2 1/2 going on 10. They are struggling along with my daughter who is working even harder to help them out. They all live in a small 3 bedroom trailer home. Everything they have are odds and ends and borrowed pieces. She came to me today and said the dryer died. A little earlier the washer died. So they come to my home to do laundry. I wish and pray for something wonderful to happen to make them feel better about themselves and the children could have comfortable beds to sleep in. Matt gets to come home around the 21st of December to stay home for a few weeks. I and the family look forward to having him home for a little while. If you could help out our son and his Family and his sister my heart would happy to see them have a wonderful Christmas. Thank you for all you do, and may the Lord continue to bless all of you.

JoAnn Anderson

Dear Mack,
My friend Aleona could use your help. She is a single mother of 3 children (1 w/asthma) who has fallen on hard times. She is always doing things for others without thinking of herself. She is always lending a helping hand or willing to share what little she has so someone else will not go without. It would truly be a blessing to see this loving and giving person be able to receive something this holiday season. Thank You!

Tanya Carr, Proud Mom

Dear Mattress Mack, My son spent six years in the Army and upon his honorable discharge, relocated to the Houston area in order to secure a good future for his family. He works a full time day job and a night job. His wife works full time as well. They have two amazing toddlers that make it all worthwhile. They currently have second-hand furniture and not much of it. I have tried to supply as much as possible and am always watching garage sales to pick up additional furnishings. My heart aches sometimes when I visit. The realization hits me that they are living close to the poverty level, working so hard to make a good life and not even able to purchase headboards for their beds or chests for their clothes. In my opinion, it would be difficult to find a more deserving or thankful family in Houston. Thank you for your consideration and generosity!

Dear Mack,
Iam a stay home mom. I have two children with autism and all I ask for this christmas is for a couple of full size beds for each of them. they are just 10 and 8 but sometimes at night I sleep with them in bed to cuddle with them. their twin size beds are too small and I already broke one of them. right now we are sharing a queen size bed and a twin bed =( its crowded. I know im a lil late on my entry but hopefully this gets to you before the giveaway. Thank you for all your kindness and God Bless you. And a very merry Xmas to u. =)

Sally Ennis

Dear Mack,
I am writing to you because we are in desperate need of some decent living room furniture. My husband John and I are currently "living" at Memorial Hermann Heart & Vascular Center because he has to have a heart transplant. Our living room furniture is hand me down furniture 20 years old or better. It's all broken down and the upholstery is torn, but he is going to have to have a recliner when he comes home after the transplant and recovery. He has one now but the springs are poking through it. Before he was admitted to the hospital he would put a pillow in it but I'm afraid that will no longer work for him since that is where he will be spending most of his time. We have virtually no income coming in because he lost his job over a year ago due to his health and I lost mine because I had missed too many days of work taking care of him. I don't know where else to turn. If there is anything you can do to help us I would be very greatful . Thank you

Virginia Coleman

Dear Mattress Mack. My name is Virginia. I am writing for my Daughther who is in desperate need of furniture. My daughter's name is Charissa. She has two children, a four year old daughter and nine year old son. Their father wanted a better life for them and joined the U.S. Army about six months ago hoping to earn more money and one day hoping to properly take care of his family and provide them with the things that are needed. They don't have any living room furniture except one dingy looking chair. The beds the kids sleep in has a mattress that is so thin and uncomfortable. They are managing and not complaining, but I know they cannot afford to purchase any furniture. If they could be blessed with something to sit on and something decent to sleep on and eat on, I know that will make them very happy for Christmas. Please add them to your list. Thank you so much in advance for your consideration.

I would like to nominate my neighbor for your furniture giveaway. He is a widower of two years and is in a wheelchair. He is 74 years old and was married for 38 years and lives on Social Security. His bed broke a few months ago and he sleeps on an old couch in his living room that I think he got from somebody tossing it out. He has no furniture other than the couch and he is a very nice man.

Their father was incarcerated last year. This has been some hard time for them. The kids are so close in spite of what happened. Their mother has done the best she can, also the 2 older kids are doing home schooling at home. The mother is around the clock caring for them all. Financially I'm disabled struggling myself. Thank God for business like yourself that reaches out to the community in love to help the needed. They are sleeping on old mattresses on the floor, all of them. It would be greatly appreciated for a living room set, a dining table set for they can eat on, and dressers for their clothes if possible. Anything would be a blessing. Hello Mr. McIngvale,

I know that it might be too late for the Christmas giveaway, but I was just reading the story on the Houston Chron website and thought I might give it a try. My mother home was also destroyed from a fir back in July 2011. Since the her home has not yet been complete because the contractor has left without completing the job and now my mother is living in a hotel until she can find someone to complete what the contractor started. He was paid and now we can’t find him. I was wondering since you are always helping families in crisis that maybe you can help by furnishing her home for Christmas as well. The family is trying to get money together to get her house complete. My mother is 85 yrs. Old and has COPD and can hardly get around and this would be the best gift for her to get back in her home knowing she will have furniture. I hope this email reach you in time.

Thanks In Advance.

Katheryn Hasara

My daughter's husband Artur, who is from Poland and grew up during the Solidarity Movement, befriended an Iraqi man named Abdul at his former job here in Houston. This gentle man had fled Iraq with his wife and 5 children after Al Qaida members threatened to kill his family because he would not cooperate with them. At his American job, a Pakistani supervisor started abusing him because he is such a gentle person; Artur intervened many times, but after Artur landed a better job, there was no one to stop the man. Abdul lost his job about 1 1/2 months ago; and he and his family were also forced to move to another apartment complex after their apartment was overrun by insects, including bed bugs. Their mattresses and other upholstered furniture had to be destroyed. This is the second time this wonderful family has had to start from scratch to furnish their apartment. Abdul has some knowledge of Jesus Christ, and I pray that Mattress Mack will help us show him, his wife and children the love and charity of Christian hearts. We have invited them to have Christmas Eve dinner with us.

Dear Mattress Matt
I would like to nominate my Mom who is 60 yrs old who has a rare lung desease as well as bad disc in her back. Whatever assistance you give will help her and make her life comfortable.

Britt tarvin

To whom this may concern,

I wrote this to nominate a woman that has been through more than a typical person could bear. She is truly the all around “I’m every woman model”. Her name is Jonn’e Clay and she is my mother. Cancers tried to take over her body from lymphoma to cervical cancer to a tumor in her brain, but she would still work her 12hrs shifts through Chemo. When she got home her husband made her do chores, cook, wash, and homework checking over my siblings work. I know she has the strength of God in her. There was so many times were we almost lost her. So many people use her kindness for weakness and trample over her. Following two strokes she has a brain operation which left her left side very weak and she lost mobility. I remember the surgery to remove the tumor. She had been sick so long that her job was letting her go and terminating her health insurance. The hospital released her the day of her lapse of insurance and she wasn’t able to go to rehabilitation for her strength in her body and mind. She has been dealing with waking around on a walker for over a year now. My mother is actually in the process of moving to separate from her husband that has added only turmoil to her current situations and I have done all that I can. She will be leaving with nothing but her shirt on her back and her children. I ask that God touches your heart that you will see that my mother is truly a remarkable woman and needs this blessing. My mother has not been happy in years and I wish this holiday , Gallery Furniture will show her that she is living and striving for a better tomorrow for her and my little brothers and sister. I know no one who has a heart like hers and I ask that this letter really touches you and she will be contacted with news that will brighten my world with her smile. She is really feeling discouraged because her health will not allow her to work, but I told her God will take care of us. I feel like this was placed on my heart to do because God doesn’t make any mistakes.

I want to thank you so much for reading my mother’s story and I decree and declare favor and all that reads this letter as well.

Thank you so much,

Britt

She lives in a two bedroom trailer home and has my four kids and about 2 months ago took in 3 of her sister's kids. Her sister is not able to be located (she has a drug problem)so she took in the kids. There are 7 kids and her. They are in need of some beds badly. Karen Brown

Dear Mac, i have a friend that i feel is deserving of your christmas wish. My name is Karen and my friend is Tracy Salminion. This selfless person recently quit her job of over four years to care for an elderly man who needed her help, her love, and her devotion. She stayed with her employer monday morning thru friday evening and was only home on the weekends. During her stay, she began having a devastating problem at her own home. She had an infestation of bedbugs and has had to throw all of her furniture away. Her employer passed away the day before Thanksgiving, with my friend at his bedside holding his hand, not concerned of her future. She is still employed by his family taking care of his daughter in law, who suffers from Huntingtons disease. Please, if anyone deserves some good will this season, its Tracy. I went by her apt this morning and she has two blow up matresses and not much else. Thank you for doing what you so selflessly do.

Bobby McCann

Mr.Mac
My mother is on social security and is disabled. She recently spent every dime she had to get a house for my sister ,her kids and myself to live in...there is no possible way that she can afford any furniture and I believe she really deserves something nice, something I cannot afford to do for her! I would really like to make my mothers christmas Extra special by registering her for this and hopefully recieve it. She has done everything for her grandkids as well as her kids, all the while doing nothing for herself.
Please take her into consideration for your Christmas giveaway
............GOD BLESS....

This is of course a sad situation as she has no furniture, linens, kitchen items or her own clothes. If you could help with the furniture I will enlist the assistance of other agencies and organizations to help her(I will do that anyway) but please help. Carolyn MacFarlane

Hi!
Every year, I think about putting my daughter among the many people in need, but then back out because she may not be chosen. This year, I decided she can not be chosen if I do not include her...
Tiffiney is a single parent (3 girls) struggling to keep a job to feed and house them. After being layed off for 2 years she has finally gotten a temporary teaching job. A blesssing, because of her dream to work with children. I see the determination and the progress she is making. But, she never seem to be able to furnish her apartment completely. They are all sleeping on mattress or air mattress. As a mother and grandmother, I would love to see them with bedroom furnitre in order to face each day well rested. I would be greatful for any help you and your family can provide for my girls.

Happy Holidays!
Carolyn

Kimberly Maldonado

Hi my name is Kim and I am writing on behalf of my friend Marina Montes. On 10/8/11 she was diagnosed with mennacocoul menangitis. She is still at UTMB in Galveston suffering with this disease. She is a school bus driver for dickinson ISD & got the disease from one of the school kids that was a carrier of the disease. Marina is a single mother of three children and also takes care of her disabled mother. Her home and furniture are in very poor condition. We have done a fund raiser in Dickinson to raise money to pay for her doctor & house bills. She will be out of work for several months. Your help with giving this family new furniture for their home would be a GREAT Chrismas gift.

Tammy Sharper

Dear Mr. Mac,
I am a Hospice Nurse and recently witness one of the most touching act of unconditional love by a young man in his early twenties for his terminal ill father. This young man received word that his terminally ill father was homeless, living in a garage, could die any day and took him in. This young man took on two jobs in restaurants to keep the household in minimal order and to give his daddy a warm place to lie down with family before he die. I watched this young man work countless hours and then coming home to give his dad all the Love and support he could find within him to a home barely making ends meet or furnished. Several months ago he was able to finally furnish his Living room with a sectional sofa but due to his father illness, uncontrollable bowel and bladder movement and bleeding from tumors in the last month until his death last week he had to throw away everything his father laid on because of the health hazard and unsanitary condition. I watched this young man throw out his furniture immediately after the Medical Examiner took his father out of the home. Now he is once again with no furniture. Is there anyway possible he could be added on your Christmas list for a Living room and bedroom set. It is not often you can find a young man willing to make that type of sacrifice for anyone and not expect or ask for anything in return. I know he can't afford any furniture because I witness him struggling just to keep the lights on.

Rose Sivcoski

Merry Christmas! I have read all these stories and I wish I could help each and everyone of these people myself, but unfortunally I have to add myself to the list. We have always been strong, dependable senior couple, but these past few years have put us to the test. Between my husband being laid off, medical cost, hospital stays, and other complications, we cannot afford to get the main essentials that we need here in our own home to help with my pain management. I have GBS and the pain can be over whelming on a daily basis. Our furniture was bought there in 1990 and not holding up too well anymore, I stuff 8 pillows behind my back on the couch and bed for relief, our bed is like sleeping on a board, I am getting bad bruises and bed sores from sleeping on it. We need some help so I can get relief and to maintain this disease and pray one day there will be a cure...thank you!

Hello Mr. Mack,
My name is Esperanza Diaz I am 11 years old I live with my mom and 3 brothers and my baby sister.
My brother and I saw your commercial on TV and asked my grandma if she can help us send you this email. We would like to know if you can help us in giving my mom this gift? Every holiday or birthday my mom has always tried to give us something or make us something to make our day special. This Christmas we want to make her day special. This year she told my brother and I she would not be able to give us much because she will be laid off at the end of November. I am not sure what that means exactly but I think it means that she will not be working. I see that she is very worried and I know that this will make her Christmas the best. I remember she told me one day if she had money she would buy us some frames to get our mattresses off the floor and some chair for our dining room table. I know this gift would be the greatest gift my brother and I would ever ask for. Please help us in any way.

Thank you and Merry Christmas.
Love,
Esperanza (11) , Sonny (12) , Alex (6) , David (3) , and Veronica (2).
WE LOVE YOU MOMMY!

Hello Mr. Mack,
Please help my son and me have a happy and blessed holiday with the Gallary furniture give away for our home. I am a single parent without support from his father. My twelve year old 175 pound son has out grown his twin bed and small cheap mattress of seven years. My king sized mattress is in need of replacement as it is 17 years old. My son, who has been diagnosed with asthma, and I both wake up irritable and sore. I have been diagnoised with arthritis from my neck to my tailbone and diabetes. I work a full time job of ten years however it is not enough to make ends meet and by all the things we need. I have had to take off a considerable amount of time to care for my 84 year old mom who has been diagnosed with alzheimers/dementia. My son is the student council president at his school, football player, church usher, church drill team, Jr. Steward and serves on the hospitality committee at our church. My living room furniture also needs to be replaced as it is 15 years old. I am not trying to get over on anyone you may come to my home and see our old uncomfortable furniture. It is hard for me to pay bills and keep food on the table, pay for our medication so there is nothing leftover for furniture. Are you all hiring for part time positions?
Please consider us for the Gallery furniture give away. Thank you in advance and be Blessed!
Renee

Hello Mr. Mack I am writing to you regarding my sister, she's a 55 year old widow, she lost her husband to liver cancer in 1993 and was left to raise her 3 children alone. To make matters worse their home had a bad house fire, lots of damage, part of the house was torn down, every piece of furniture was ruined, the electrical wiring had to be replaced, and so much more which would take them years to repair as they could afford it and have not moved back. Most of the repairs have been done and they are hoping to move back soon. She has been working for HISD as a bus driver since her husband passed away, despite having 2 bad knees from an auto accident. I know she has had many years of depression over not being able to "go home". She is a good person, she helps others and I know she deserves so much. If you would nominate her for the christmas furniture give away, you would make her dream of going home come true! GOD BLESS YOU.

My 49 year old Brother with health issues happily raises his three children in their old unfurnished home in second ward. The Mother left and this Christmas will be especially difficult, both emotionally and finacially. They have no "beds", but have two old matresses. Please consider donating a twin size bed for the 12 year old boy and/or bunk beds for the 10 and 5 year old girls.

Dear Mattress Mack,

I am humbly righting this letter on behalf of my mother, Frances Porter. My 65 year old mother recieved a bed from Ashley Furniture earlier this year. She was making payments to the company when after a month the wood in the bed started coming apart. My mother informed the company numerous times but they were not concerned about her issues. My mother finally informed them that she will not be making any more payments & two months later they came & got the bed. My mother is retired & on a fixed income. She is currently sleeping on the floor because the couch she has is falling apart by the seams. My mother is currenlty going back & forth to Houston & Gonzales, TX to help take care of my grandmother who was diagnosed with cancer. It hurts so much to see my mom in pain & can't get a good nights sleep. I am a single mother of two and can not financially help my mother get a decent bed or couch set. I know that in this time of year there are numerous families in need of help, but I pray that you can find it in your heart to help my mother get a bed. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter from a daughter who loves her mother with all her heart.
