By Angel Hadnott: HOWDY! I'm an Agricultural Journalism and Communications major at Texas A&M University. Before coming to Gallery Furniture, I didn't know a lot about furniture. I knew the difference between a couch and a sectional, but had little knowledge of what a credenza was. Working at Gallery Furniture has taught me a lot about the work and operations that carried out to make sure that Houston and surrounding areas receive quality furniture in a timely manner.
Since being employed at Gallery Furniture, I have had the opportunity to work as a cashier in the Finance Department, a blogger in the Marketing Department, and a salesperson and greeter. One of the unique aspects of this internships at Gallery Furniture is the room it allows for you to advance, excel in whatever fields you desire or are willing to learn! Working in the different areas of the store has allowed me to gain the professional experience that many employers look for in a resume.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to work for Mattress Mack. Though I have only been here two weeks, I have learned a lot about how a business works, and how valuable it is to put the customer first. One of the lessons that I will take with me from this internship is that the customer matters, and to treat people in business and personal relationships fairly. If you have never been to Gallery Furniture, I urge you to visit today. It is not only a great place to work, but a great place to shop.
