Mark decided to come to Houston's number one furniture store today because he had store credit for a mattress that he had bought before. He did not know that he was able to use the store credit towards anything in the store, so whenever he found out that he was able to use the store credit towards a television, he became very excited.

Gallery Furniture had donated televisions to Continental Airlines, where Mark had worked before. Continental Airlines put those televisions in the break room and the employees were able to enjoy watching television on their lunch breaks. Because Gallery Furniture donated the televisions to Continental Airlines, Mark and his fellow coworkers respected Gallery Furniture and Mark  became a loyal customer to Gallery Furniture.

Mark purchased a brand new crystal clear Houston  42" JVC television to bring home to his family. Mark said that Craig his sales did a great job in assisting him find the right television for his Houston home. Craig treated Mark to a free lunch for hotdogs and hamburgers at the deli. They were able to shoot the bull for a little while and enjoy talking about their common interests.

Tiny Woman Big Chair!

Gallery Furniture did not know what was coming when Bessie M. came to the store. She was on a mission and was not going to let anyone stop her. Her daughter and granddaughter came here with her and had a surprise in store for Bessie.

Bessie has shopped at Gallery Furniture in Houston many times and so has a lot of her family members. She is actually replacing a chair that one of her family members bought her many years ago. Well, while Bessie was looking through the newspaper at home she saw a great ad for a sale on Recliners at Gallery Furniture in Houston. She called her daughter and asked her to bring her to Gallery Furniture and would not let go of that newspaper ad. It was her goal and she said she would have pulled her pistol out if someone took it away from her! When she arrived at Gallery Furniture with her family, out salesman Fabian greeted her with a smile that just made her day. She said that when you can walk in a store and someone can make you feel happy with just a smile it means something.

In no time she found the a nice big recliner that was so soft she did not want to get up. Bessie jokingly told Fabian if he let someone get her chair he would regret it! To top off her fun day at Gallery Furniture, her daughter surprised her by paying for the chair as a gift. Bessie thought she was paying for it the whole time. She said it was a blessing to her that she got a great chair and great service all in one day! Now she can sit in comfort and always think of Gallery Furniture where she had a great service and the nice smile she received from Fabian!

Holiday Dreams Do Come True!

Dreams come true every day at Gallery Furniture in Houston!  What more could you want during the holidays than getting great furniture and great customer service?   Gerry, Jan, and Chelsea came to Gallery Furniture and were greeted by 17(Arturo). Little did they know that this would be the day that would make their holiday season the best!

Gerry and Jan were ready for new furniture. They had many options of furniture stores near by so they decided to shop around. The first stop was The Room Store and what a stop it was. Gerry and Jan said the selection was very big and they did not have many choices. The next stop was Fingers Furniture. To their surprise they had a lot to look at but nothing to buy.  The family wanted furniture TODAY, but Fingers could not delivery anything they picked out until another month and a half. It started feeling like the Grinch Stole Christmas from Gerry and Jan.  When the family was starting to feel like they were not going to have new furniture before the new year, they saw a commercial on the Television in Houston for Gallery Furniture and its Same Day Delivery! They decided to just go for it and they did. It was the day before Christmas with nothing in their living room. They came to the store and a loud hello shook us up and it was 17. Gerry and Jan were with Chelsea and were looking for Leather Reclining Living Room Sets in Houston. they explained their unfortunate events and 17 showed them some of the sets we had in leather. Before they knew it they found what they were looking for. They needed some time to think so 17 got them refreshments and they asked one more question, "Can we get this today?" and 17 said YES! That finished their holiday mission.

Now their Christmas and New Year will be more enjoyable in the comfort of new living room furniture from Gallery Furniture!

The Aggie Alamo Bowl Trip

After working hard for Gallery Furniture, Houston's number one furniture store this Christmas break, the Aggie interns were able to go to the Alamo Bowl to watch the Aggies take on Penn State.  The Aggies were very excited to see one of the best traditions at A&M - Texas Aggie football. The Aggies weren't very excited when they thought about a three hour bus drive to San Antonio. When the two buses showed up, the Aggies had a different attitude about the busride. They were shocked to find out it was a bus with flat screen TV's with cable and DVD capability, food, a laser light display, and a dance floor. It was all and more than the Aggies could have asked for.

Once the Aggies arrived in San Antonio, they walked straight from the two luxury style buses to the San Antonio's famous historical Riverwalk. There was a sea of Maroon with blotches of Nittany Lion (Penn State) navy blue. The Aggie interns were "whooping", hollering, and having a great time preparing for the game. The Aggies proudly sang the Aggie War Hymn in front of the many Penn State fans that passed by the Riverwalk  The interns ate tasty San Antonio Mexican food directly on the river walk. Shortly after dinner they headed straight to the classical Alamodome.  The Aggie interns believed that the Penn State fans were wishing they had as much school spirit as the Aggies.

Once the Aggies arrived at the stadium, dressed in their favorite Texas A&M attire, they were anticipating the game and were excited about the great first deck seats they were given by Gallery Furniture. It added to the excitement that the Aggies were seated in the middle of a large group of Penn State fans, which encouraged the Aggies to yell louder for A&M.

The game started out really well for Texas A&M. Texas A&M scored two touchdowns quickly at the start of the game, and before the interns knew it the score was 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.  As the game progressed, Penn State was able to catch up and eventually take the lead.  Halftime was re-energizing with the Aggie Band, encouraging the Aggies to stay energetic. Unfortunately, the A&M football team ran out of time at the end of the game while down by one touchdown.  Despite this fact, the Gallery Furniture Aggie Intern team had a great time in San Antonio and at the Bowl Game.

By the time the Aggies walked from the Alamo dome to the buses, it was late, and the Aggies were exhausted.  It had been 12 hours of non stop fun, and the Aggies had a long ride back.  The Aggies were able to relax while listening to music and watching ESPN on their way to Gallery Furniture after a great game. The Aggies had an experience they would always remember - when Gallery Furniture sent a large group of Gallery Furniture Texas Aggie interns to the Alamo Bowl!

Donielle, otherwise known as Nawty Dread Knocks, is the captain of the Houston Roller Derby Team.  She is an all-star, and will compete in Memphis as an all-star on behalf of the Houston team.  She bought a house in Houston and came to Gallery Furniture, Houston's number one furniture store, to look around this summer. 

Today, Donielle's mother wanted to get her a house warming gift and thought furniture would be a good idea.  When Donielle was getting ready this morning she knew she wanted to come to Gallery Furniture, but then she heard an advertisement on the radio for Gallery Furniture which confirmed that she should come.

Once she came in the store today, Gallery Furniture sales associate Carmen helped Donielle.  Donielle said Carmen was "nice, helpful, had alot of information, and wasn't overpowering like a car salesman."  Donielle bought a beautiful Houston living room set, including a Houston love seat, Houston sofa, and Houston chair and ottoman.  She also went ahead and purchased a Houston kitchen dinette. Donielle was really excited to get her furniture today, like was promised to her on the radio.  After she made her purchases, she told Gallery Furniture, "I will be back for a big screen tv, and after coming here, I'll never go anywhere else.  At Gallery Furniture the prices are right and it is my one-stop shop."

Off to Alamo Bowl!

Two buses left the Gallery Furniture parking lot Saturday morning,  headed to San Antonio and the Alamo Bowl.  On the buses -- the Gallery Furniture Aggie interns.

As I've noted here before, there are a lot of Texas A&M students working at Houston's favorite furniture store this December.  They're earning extra money during the Christmas break and helping Gallery Furniture handle all the shoppers who have come in the store this month.

The Aggies are getting a "thank you" present from Gallery Furniture.  They're going to the Penn State vs. Texas A&M game as my guests, with transportation to and from San Antonio on two charter buses.

The buses aren't bad, either.  John Lopez of Tuxedo Charters, an Aggie, sent two limousine style buses for the interns.

With penguins on the front of each bus, it did not take long for the Aggies to dub them "Opus" and "Happy Feet."

I'm counting on several of the Aggie interns to report on the trip for the blog tomorrow.
