Gallery Furniture is Graced with the Presence of Milo Hamilton, Voice of the Houston Astros!

Gallery Furniture gets its fair share of celebrities, and it was a joy and exciting moment to have the one and only Milo Hamilton, Houston's voice of the Houston Astros, as he had come in to buy a Gallery Furniture Tempur-Pedic for a family member because that's just the great guy Milo is.

In case you are new to Houston, it would please you to know that Milo Hamilton has been broadcasting baseball since 1952 with his own style - many refer to it as a Big-Band era voice, very pleasing to the ears.  His style is fun and family friendly as Milo broadcasts the baseball games and adds his own sense of flair to the Astros games with his time-honored catch phrase "HOLY TOLEDO! What a play!"

Gallery Furniture inquired to Milo Hamilton what his favorite all-time broadcast throughout his glorious career was, and Milo thought a minute and lit up as he told Gallery Furniture that he really loved broadcasting the 7th Game of the 1979 World Series, in which the Pittsburgh Pirates (for whom Milo was broadcasting since 1976 succeeding Pirates announcer Bob Prince who had been with the Pirates since the late 40's) - took down the Orioles in a series that electrified baseball in a time when America wanted some fun, good news.

Milo Hamilton's career in Houston for the Houston Astros comes after a fun career spanning seven different teams - and Milo has come a long was since Fairfield Iowa, where he was born (it's in the southern part of Iowa).  Milo Hamilton's career began early for radio, for while in the Navy during World War II he broadcasted for the Armed Forces radio.

Houstonians near and far know him for his KTRH 740 AM broadcasts and Gallery Furniture is proud to have Milo Hamilton, who received not only the Sportscaster Radio Hall of Fame in February of 2007, but also the coveted Baseball Hall of Fame Ford C. Frick Award for a major contribution to broadcasting in baseball in 1992.  His Hall of Fame status is well-deserved for the years he has served not just for the Houston Astros, who share the same beautiful home town of Houston as Gallery Furniture, but also for his excitement to baseball for all Americans.

Gallery Furniture is proud to have Milo Hamilton as a customer, and proud we could help him select a Tempur Pedic bed for his family!
