A Clubhouse for Heroes, Part 2
Last week I told you about the USO Center at Houston's Hobby airport and how Gallery Furniture has provided the furniture for it. Gallery Furniture continues to revitalize USO Centers at American airports by putting in brand new furniture. It is one way to show our appreciation to the people in uniform. They need and deserve a comfortable place to wait when they are flying from place to place, they need a touch of home.
I'm proud to tell you that Gallery Furniture has just finished up with the USO Center at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport in Mississippi. Space for the USO was donated by the airport authority and now that the interior is finished, it is time to furnish it.
Getting the furniture there was an adventure in itself because the delivery truck started having problems near New Orleans. It looks like a computer or electrical problem. The Gallery Furniture team picked up a rental truck in New Orleans, left the delivery truck for repair, and continued on to Gulfport.
You can see from the before and after pictures here that the airport has provided a nice space. The furniture and decorations from Gallery Furniture fits the space well, and I know from our work at Hobby that the servicemen and women like the chairs and sofas.
The Gulfport USO Center will provide a nice place to wait for a flight, check email, or make a phone call for men and women in uniform traveling to and from military installations in the area. Gallery Furniture is honored to provide furniture for these dedicated members of the military and their families.
In my earlier blog about the USO in Houston, one of the volunteers called it "a clubhouse for heroes." I like that description -- and Gallery Furniture will continue to provide nice furniture for the USO's "clubhouses for heroes" around the nation.
