Bedside Blog: Night 4 in a Hastens Bed!

The Marketing and Internet boys at Gallery Furniture have been busy sleep testing their Hastens mattresses.  Gil turned his report late, but that's just 'cause he is a crazy Texas Aggie who sometimes forgets what time of day it is, but here is his Hastens Night 4 Test Rest.

"Mack, again, I cannot thank you and Gallery Furniture and Hastens enough for allowing me try out this magnificent Hastens mattress - as many readers would know by now, I have the Superia model with the BJX topper, and I spent the first few days for our Gallery Furniture customers doing some bizarre tests (non-scientific) with the Hastens mattress like creating odd climate effects in the room, and now I have gone back to normal on my Hastens Superia.

I really want to sort of explain to our fellow Houstonians who will come in to Gallery Furniture for a test rest exactly what the Hastens Superia is made of.  While it is no different in terms of actual materials used, it should be noted that the Hastens Superia is different than Hamilton's Excel bed in terms of how the Hastens bed is layered.  So, I want to show cut-outs here and give our Gallery Furniture readers in Houston a better idea of how these beds really are the mark of unparalleled comfort.

Mack, I am showing below for our Gallery Furniture readers and readers all over the Internet the exact specifications of the Hastens Superia bed that I am sleeping on:

There areTwelve Points to the Superia Bed, and Mack, I gotta tell you, I love the number twelve because it reminds me of the Fightin' Texas Aggie 12th Man.  Here are the twelve points for the Hastens Superia:

1. Partly upholstered in cotton stretch fabric, 100% cotton, blue check.
2. Spiral system, 15 cm high with 8-ring springs, individually sprung with extra strong side springs.
3. Extra reinforced corner springs and flax corner stuffing.
4. BJ top mattress contains genuine horsehair and cotton/wool. The fabric is 100% cotton.
5. Cotton/wool.
6. Genuine horsehair.
7. Cotton/wool.
8. 16.8 cm strengthened wood frame of solid pine with slats in recessed tracks.
9. Flax.
10. Spiral spring system, 13 cm high.
11. Flax.
12. Cotton lining underneath, preventing dust from entering the bed from underneath and making it easy to vacuum under the bed.

Number 4 is really the key here, this is the topper for the Hastens mattress (though I am sleeping on a BJX topper - which also includes an additional centimeter of height over the standard BJ).  The topper is what regulated the core temperature of the bedding, so that I stayed perfectly comfortable in my Houston home while running those wild and crazy tests on my Hastens Superia mattress with BJX topper.

More than anything, these 12 layers work together to make the Hastens Superia one of the best beds money can buy, and I am excited that we at Gallery Furniture carry this fine line of beds so that all Houstonians can get a great night's sleep.  It's wonderful and the benefits allow me to work longer, play smarter.

Mack, I had an interesting phone call with a friend that works over at the Chronicle - Kimberly Grant - she had asked about the check pattern.  I explained to her the check pattern can be used to your room advantage or you can put sheets over it - I think that Hamilton explained it best for the Gallery Furniture audience in how he handled the situation.  Personally, I went with what Hastens rep Karina Rasmussen said - throw a top sheet on and you are good to go. If you are concerned about the traditional blue check Hastens color, then grab the silver check like I had so that you can blend easily with contemporary or traditional furniture in your Houston home.

Overall, I have been tracking my sleep and it has been consistently the same since I started in terms of the fact that falling asleep and waking up now come as they should for all Houstonians- easily and without alarm clocks to rise or tricks to fall asleep.  My cat, the Russian Blue named Favel, thinks the world of these beds, which is great, because he's not waking me up anymore at 4:30 for a morning feeding and he sleeps til I rise!

Last night I logged: Time to Bed: 10:45 PM, Time to Rise: 6:00 (no clock)

Wow, looks like Gil is really getting a great night's sleep like on  his Hastens Superia mattress - a night's sleep every Houstonian should be having - and maybe then traffic would not be so bad on the North Freeway in the morning!  Folks, Gallery Furniture truly believes that sleep is the new health food, and don't take our word for it, get information from local Houston sources like St. Joseph's or the Baylor College of Medicine - they have world class sleep centers and doctors and professionals ready to help you get a great night's sleep.  And part of getting that great night's sleep can start here at Gallery Furniture with the world class Hastens beds.

Gallery Furniture is proud to carry the Hastens line from Sweden not just because of the unparalleled comfort, but also because they are the most eco-friendly, zero-carbon footprint bed on earth.  Get a great night's sleep on a Hastens mattress and enjoy your life more - feel more energized as you go about your day in Houston.  Gallery Furniture is the only store in the world, not just Houston, where you can buy your Hastens mattress today and get it delivered TODAY, and you will enjoy a great night's sleep TONIGHT.
